Privacy Notice for California Job Applicants

Effective Date: August 1, 2025

This notice applies to California residents applying for employment (“you”) with Zipline International Inc. (“we” or “us”).

We designed this notice to comply with the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018, Civil Code section 1798.100 et seq., as amended (“CCPA”). We do not intend for this notice to create any rights beyond CCPA. 

This notice applies to information that identifies, relates to, describes, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could be reasonably linked, directly or indirectly, with you or your household (“personal information”). Personal information does not include de-identified information. 

1. Categories of Personal Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of personal information from job applicants:

  • Identifiers. Name, email address, phone number, mailing address, government-issued ID, and other identifiers or contact information.

  • Professional or Employment-Related Information. Resume, CV, cover letter, application form answers, job history and other experience, information from your references, current employer, job title, degrees, institutions attended, transcripts, certifications, work authorization related information, information we collect as part of a background check, or other information you provide or make available to us in support of the application, recruitment, or hiring process.

  • Communications with You. Information from interviews, phone calls, or other communications with us as part of the application, recruitment, or hiring process, including information regarding interest in or how you heard about the position, compensation or benefits history or requirements, relocation, other job or role background, or other information you voluntarily provide in communications.

  • Travel Information. We may receive travel-related information as part of the application, recruitment, or hiring process, such as dates and length of travel, locations of interviews or meetings, and information needed to arrange or reimburse travel.

  • Demographic Information. Any demographic provided to us during the application, recruitment, or hiring process, such as race, ethnicity, disability, or veteran status (voluntarily provided for EEO compliance), some of which may be sensitive personal information or a protected characteristic under California or federal law.   

  • Internet or Other Electronic Network Activity. When you interact with our website, we collect information about your browser or device such as IP address, device ID, login and browsing activity (if using our application platform).

  • Sensitive Personal Information. In certain cases, we may require you to provide us with sensitive personal information including government identifiers (such as a driver's license or government ID). You may also elect to share with us sensitive demographic information such as race, ethnicity, or health information (such as information related to disability for accommodation purposes or to reproductive health and maternal care to provide applicable benefits). 

We collect personal information from a variety of sources, including as follows:

  • Directly or automatically collected from you

  • Inferences we may derive from information we have collected

  • References provided by you, including former and current employer

  • Service providers (e.g., expense reimbursement services, recruiters, travel portals, cookies and similar technologies related to our providers’ services)

  • Background check services

  • Online or public sources including social networks and recruiting sites (e.g., LinkedIn)

We also collect personal information through our use of cookies, web beacons, mobile analytics, and similar technologies to operate our websites, applications, and online services accessible to you in the context of our recruiting and hiring relationship. We use these technologies to help us collect the data necessary to operate and manage our business. This includes analyzing and measuring device, application, and system usage, detecting and preventing illegal, fraudulent, or unauthorized activity, enforcing our policies, and protecting our devices, systems, information, and infrastructure. The information we collect using these technologies includes personal information, such as the pages you visit, the links you click on, usage and crash information, identifiers, and device information, as described above in this notice as Internet and Other Electronic Network Activity. 2. Purposes for Collection and Use

We collect and use this personal information for the following purposes:

  • To process and evaluate your job application;

  • To communicate with you during the recruitment process (which may include our recording or storing telephone, video, email, or online chat communications);

  • To verify your identity and qualifications;

  • To help arrange travel and reimburse related expenses; 

  • To comply with our legal obligations (e.g., right-to-work verification, equal employment opportunity laws);

  • To conduct background checks (where permitted by law); or

  • To improve our recruiting and hiring processes.

3. Retention of Personal Information

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this notice, and to comply with our legal obligations, including recordkeeping, auditing, and defending against legal claims. Specific retention periods vary depending on the type of information.

4. How We May Disclose or Permit Access to Your Personal Information

We may disclose your personal information with our service providers, affiliates, and employees for the purposes described in this notice. We may, for example, disclose your information to service providers to provide our communications services, store our documents, conduct background checks (where permitted) or arrange logistics such as travel related to the application, recruitment, or hiring process. Additionally, we may disclose information about you with third parties, such as your references. We may also disclose personal information about you in connection with a corporate transaction or proceeding, such as a merger or acquisition, financing transaction, bankruptcy, dissolution, or a transfer, divestiture, or sale of all or a portion of our business or assets.

Zipline also may disclose information about you to third parties in response to legal process, where required by law, or to protect against harm to the rights, property, or safety of Zipline, our users, applicants, candidates, employees, or the public.  

5. Your Rights Under the CCPA 

As a California resident, you have the following rights:

  • Right to Know: Request disclosure of the personal information we collect, use, and disclose.

  • Right to Request Deletion: Request deletion of personal information (subject to exceptions under applicable law).

  • Right to Request Correction: Request correction of inaccurate personal information.

  • Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information: Where we use or disclose Sensitive Personal Information to infer individual characteristics or for purposes other than those permitted by CCPA, you have a right to request that we limit our use and disclosure of such sensitive personal information. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information to infer individual characteristics or for additional purposes.

  • Right to Opt-Out from Sales or Sharing. You have a right to opt-out from the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information, each of which is defined under CCPA. Note that we do not “sell” or “share” personal information as defined by the CCPA and have not done so in the past 12 months. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of minors under 16 years of age.

  • Right to Notice. You have a right to receive notice of our personal information collection, use, retention, and disclosure practices at or before the collection of personal information. 

  • Right to Non-Discrimination. You have a right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights set out in the CCPA.

You may designate, in writing or through a power of attorney, an authorized agent to make requests to access, correct, or delete personal information on your behalf. Before accepting such a request from an agent, we will require the agent to provide proof that you have authorized it to act on your behalf. We may need you to verify your identity directly with us.

We reserve the right to deny your request to provide, correct, or delete personal information if we cannot verify your identity or if an exemption or exception applies. We will verify requests by asking you to send the request from the email address associated with your application or by requiring you to provide additional information reasonably necessary to verify your identity, as permitted by law.

If we make changes to this notice, we will revise the “Last Updated” date at the top of the notice. If we make material changes to this notice, we will provide notice or obtain consent regarding such changes as required by law.
